Make the Smooth Switch to Marine Bank
We make moving one or all of your accounts to Marine Bank easy. Just follow these simple steps and you can start enjoying the personalized service offered by your only local, independent community bank.
Step 1. Open an account with Marine Bank & Trust Company
Select the personal account or business account that best suits your needs. Then visit or call one of our branches to open your account.
Step 2. Change electronic transfers (direct deposit and automatic payments) to your new account
All of the companies and financial institutions that handle direct deposits to your account or automatic payments from your account need to be notified. Our handy Checklist for Automatic Transactions will help you organize this information.
Each company that drafts payments from your old bank account can be easily notified of the change by using the Automatic Payment Change Form. Print as many copies as needed.
For payroll or pension direct deposits, call the company’s Human Resources department for instructions. For Social Security direct deposits, call the Social Security Administration at (800) 772-1213.
Marine Bank's routing number is 067014246.
Step 3. Stop using your old account for new transactions
It’s important to keep your old account open until all checks and debit card transactions have cleared. Also, leave enough money in your account to cover any automatic payments that may be drawn from it before your change of account information goes into effect. Destroy unused checks, deposit slips and debit cards from your old account.
Step 4. Close your old account
Once all outstanding checks and debit card transactions have cleared and all automatic payments are switched to your new Marine Bank account, you can close your old account using the Transfer Authorization Form. The completion of this form directs your old financial institution to close your account(s) and transfer any remaining balance(s) to your new Marine Bank account.
