Meet Richard Giessert
Seeing Opportunities in Each Application
When Richard Giessert graduated from the University of Florida with two bachelor’s degrees in finance and economics, a family friend suggested he give a career in banking a try. Although Richard had always been interested in banking, he wasn’t prepared for how diverse and interesting banking could be.
“Being able to help local people realize their dreams whether personally or professionally, by assisting them obtain proper financial assistance is highly rewarding.”
During his 20 plus year banking career covering the Treasure and Space Coasts, he gained significant experience in commercial banking including SBA, commercial real estate, and construction loans, banking solutions for specific industries like healthcare and non-profit, and wealth management strategies.
In January of 2021, Richard joined Marine Bank as Vice President, SBA Loan Officer. “As the SBA loan officer, I help local businesses obtain government-guaranteed loans which maximize the client’s borrowing capability while mitigating the risk for the Bank. It’s a win-win. I get excited every time I walk down the hall to discuss the opportunities each loan application represents with our local team of decision makers. We truly help instigate change in our community.”
Born and raised in Vero Beach, Richard has been volunteering for local non-profits since he was a teenager and today serves as a board member for the Rotary Club Vero Beach Sunrise, United Way Foundation of Indian River County, and the Indian River County Chamber of Commerce. He enjoys golfing, playing poker, and spending time with his 15-year-old saxophone playing son, his girlfriend, his dog, two cats, and a turtle.
